Monday afternoon, a slew of Pro Bowl replacements were selected in place of players competing in the Super Bowl and those sustaining injuries in the AFC and NFC Championship games on Sunday. Quarterbacks Tony Romo and Donovan McNabb highlight the list of 14 additions to the rosters.

Romo will replace Brett Favre after the Vikings signal caller hurt his ankle against the New Orleans Saints this past weekend, while McNabb will play for Drew Brees, who won't play because he is playing in Super Bowl XLIV.

Romo will be making his third appearance and McNabb his sixth.

Along with Romo, Cowboys cornerback Mike Jenkins will filling for Vikings' Antonio Winfield, bringing Dallas' total in the game to nine players.

The Philadelphia Eagles will also be taking nine players to this year's game, including McNabb
and safety Quintin Mikell, who was added Monday.

New York Jets defensive end Shaun Ellis will replace Robert Mathis of the Colts, because he will be playing in the Super Bowl. Ellis will play in his second Pro Bowl, and first since the 2003 season, despite having a broken left hand that requires surgery.

Mikell, the seven year pro, will be getting his first Pro Bowl nod after he joined the Eagles as an undrafted free agent out of Boise State. He replaces the Saints' Darren Sharper.

Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback David Garrard will replace Peyton Manning. Garrard passed for 3,597 yards, with 15 touchdowns and 10 interceptions with a 60.9 completion percentage in 2009.

With the format change this season, having the Pro Bowl the week before the Super Bowl, this season's NFL All-Star game will certainly be watered down. Not that anyone watches this game anyway.
