Tennessee Titans Agree To Terms With QB Chris Simms

Chris Simms In the wake of starting QB Vince Young's sprained MCL in his left knee. The Titans have signed former Buccaneers QB Chris Simms to serve as Kerry Collins back-up. Young's injury will keep him out of the Titans line-up for a least two weeks and as many as four.
The 28 year old Simms threw for almost 3,100 yards and 12 touchdowns in parts of three seasons with Tampa Bay. Simms was the Buccaneers starter until game three of the 2006 season, when a serious on the field injury resulted in the removal of his spleen. Simms was out of the league in 2007.

Simms was in Foxborough with the Patriots on Monday, but did not work out or take a physical. New England coach Bill Belichick says he is no rush to sign a quarterback. The Pats also met with former San Francisco 49ers QB Tim Rattay on Monday.
It looks like Belichick is content to go with veteran back-up Matt Cassel to fill in for Brady for now. Rookie Kevin O'Connell will be Cassel's back-up against the New York Jets this Sunday. Cassel led the Patriots to a 17-10 win over the Kansas City Chiefs after Brady was knocked out of the game.
Reports out of New England say that Belichick is considering unemployed QB Daunte Culpepper. Apparently, Culpepper's former teammate Randy Moss recommend his coach think about the former Vikings QB. Belichick admits he often listens to his players in consideration of other players.
