The New York Jets' remarkable run through the AFC playoffs was ended on Sunday in Indianapolis by Peyton Manning and the Colts.

New York had come a long way riding on the back of their number one ranked defense and running game. Yesterday in Lucas Oil Stadium however, the Colts proved to be too much to handle as Manning picked apart the Jets secondary and Indy's defense held the Jets rushing attack to just 86 yards.

Manning showed everyone why he is a four-time league MVP. It's hard to believe that only a few years ago Manning was ridiculed for not being able to win in big games. If there are any sceptics left, another Super Bowl Championship this season would surely cement Manning as one of the greatest to ever play the quarterback position.

The 33 year old Manning, tossed three touchdown passes while throwing for 377 yards and no interceptions in route to the Colts 30-17 victory over the Jets.

As quickly as the Colts opened the door for the Jets to make a playoff run four weeks ago, when they sat their starters in Week 16, Indianapolis closed it on Sunday.

Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez did not play bad, throwing for 257 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. In fact, he was nearly flawless in the first half, completing 5-of-7 passes including an 80-yard hook-up with Braylon Edwards for a second quarter score.

"Today wasn't our day. There's no question," said Jets coach Rex Ryan. "You have to give credit to the Colts. Obviously they're the cream of the crop right now."
