The last time the Colts and the Jets met in the regular season, Peyton Manning stood on the sideline and watched as the New York defense swarmed all over Indianapolis back-up quarterback Curtis Painter. Manning stood helpless as Indy's chance at a perfect season ended and the Jets started to build momentum.

With the winner heading to Super Bowl XLIV this Sunday, Manning will not be watching and Rex Ryan's defense won't have it so easy.

And so the chess match begins with strength against strength between New York's No. 1 defense and four-time NFL MVP Peyton Manning and the high-flying Colts offense.

NFL odds makers are calling Indianapolis more than a touchdown favorite as the line sits
at, the Colts -8. That's just about the same spread as a week ago when the Jets were underdogs going into San Diego and shocked the Chargers on their home field.

The total in the game is sitting at 39. That's may seem a little low considering the potency of Peyton and Indy's offense.

Apparently, prognosticators need to account for a Jets defense that has been able to control games thus far in the post-season, not to mention the New York running game that surely will chew up a lot of clock.

The their first two playoff games, the Jets have averaged 170 yards on the ground, while Ryan's defense has held San Diego and Cincinnati to 14 points each.

If they can do that again against Indy, they certainly have a chance to pull off the upset.
