Saturday night in Indy, Lucas Oil Stadium will be electric as the Baltimore Ravens come into Indianapolis to take on the Colts. The Ravens look to continue to roll after a huge win against the New England Patriots last weekend in the Wild-Card Round.
The Colts are in a little bit different situation. After a week off and two weeks of the regular season seemingly letting their foot off the gas, Indianapolis will try to dial back up the intensity.
The Colts stormed out to a 14-0 record, but chose to rest most of their starters in an attempt to get ready for a playoff run. Anything short of a Super Bowl Championship will be a disappointment for the Colts.
"The ultimate goal is to get to the Super Bowl and win," defensive end Raheem Brock said. "Sixteen and oh sounds great, but I don't really care what the record is because no one remembers that."
There are many schools of thought when it comes to this topic.
Some look at Indy' decision to pull-up down the stretch as a mistake, citing that momentum, continuity on offense and being game-ready is too important to ignore in the NFL. While others feel that insuring the health of your skill players and getting a break for guys that have endured a grueling regular season schedule is key.
Whatever the formula is for taking home a Lombardi Trophy remains to be seen.
They only thing we do know for sure is; the 14-2 Colts haven't played a game that's mattered since beating Jacksonville on December 17th.
That's a long-time to be away from game-speed. That being said, if anyone can overcome an obstacle like that, it is Peyton Manning.
