USC Trojans Head Football Coach Pete Carroll Resigns

USC Trojans According to reports coming out of Los Angeles, University of Southern California head football coach Pete Carroll has resigned after nine seasons with the Trojans. Carroll compiled a record of 97-19 including seven bowl wins and one National Championship in 2004.
Apparently, Carroll wants to take another stab at the NFL.
Carroll has reached an agreement in principle with the Seattle Seahawks. He had been a longtime coach and coordinator in the pro ranks before joining USC.
Many though that Carroll had given up thoughts of returning to the NFL. He told reporters that the Seahawks deal, "came out of nowhere."

Although the school has not made an official announcement about his departure, Carroll has reportedly already started to assemble a possible staff in Seattle.
The Chicago Bears have been informed that USC quarterbacks coach and offensive coordinator Jeremy Bates, who was scheduled to interview for their offensive coordinator's job, has decided to accept the same job with Carroll and the Seahawks.
Sources are also saying that Carroll has approached Trojans linebackers coach Ken Norton Jr. about taking him to Seattle to fill the same role with the Seahawks.
Coaching in the NFL will be nothing new for Carroll. He served as the New York Jets head coach in 1994 and then was the head man in New England from 1997 to 1999.
