Alabama vs Texas
Alabama vs Texas
Thursday night the college football season comes to a close as the No. 1 ranked Alabama Crimson Tide get set to take on the 2nd-ranked Texas Longhorns in the BCS National Championship game in Pasadena.

The Rose Bowl will be rockin' when Alabama and Texas take the field in a powerhouse showdown between unbeaten teams. While the 14-0 Boise State Broncos may feel a little slighted by being shut out of the title game, the BCS could not have delivered a more high-profile matchup.

NCAA odds makers see this game being really close, however the Tide come in as the favorite in this one. The spread in Vegas is sitting at a little more than a field goal. The line is at, Alabama -4 with the total in the contest set at 46.

Alabama comes into the title game riding high after running back Mark Ingram became the school's first Heisman Trophy winner. Ingram has pounded out more than 1,500 yards and 15 touchdowns in 2009. His combination of power
and speed has kept opposing defenses on their heels all season long.

Ingram has not been the only member of the Tide offense rolling this season. Quarterback Greg McElroy has thrown for 2,450 yards, but more importantly for the Crimson Tide, he has been smart with the football. McElroy has completed over 61 percent of his passes and thrown just four interceptions all season.

It is going to be interesting to see how they perform against a Texas defense that is first in rush defense, allowing just 62.2 yards per game on the ground, third in total defense and eighth in scoring defense.

However, for Texas, quarterback Colt McCoy is going to have to have big game against the Alabama secondary. That won't be easy.

Alabama is led on defense by Javier Arenas, Mark Barron and his seven interceptions, as well as Sophomore defensive end Marcell Dareus, who recorded a team-high 6 1/2 of the Tide's 31 sacks.

This is going to be a good one. I like the Tide to win.

Take Alabama and give the 4 points.
