Iowa Hawkeyes BCS Bowl week continues on Tuesday night in sunny South Florida when the Iowa Hawkeyes take on the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in the FedEx Orange Bowl.
There may not be a lot of hype surrounding this BCS game, however it certainly could turn out to be the most interesting. At 11-2, Georgia Tech comes in ranked 9th in the nation, while the 10th-ranked Haweyes are 10-2.
NCAA odds makers like Georgia Tech in this one as the spread in Vegas is looking like it's going to be around a touchdown. The current line has the Yellow Jackets sitting at, -6 with the total in the contest at 51.
This game is going to come down to strength against strength. This season's Orange Bowl should be a classic case of a high-powered offense versus a stingy defense, the Yellow Jackets will try to run their way past Hawkeyes when the
The Yellow Jackets average 307 yards on the ground per game, good for second in all of college football. The leader of the offense is quarterback Josh Nesbitt. His run-first attitude landed him 16 rushing touchdowns on the year and is terrific at making decisions inside the triple option offense.
Running back Jonathan Dwyer is an NFL prospect. Dwyer averages 6.1 yards per carry and has 14 touchdowns on the season.
The Hawkeyes were 8-0 and staring at a possible undefeated season when quarterback Ricky Stanzi went down in the Northwestern game and they were upset at home. Then they lost a heart breaker at Ohio State.
They expect to have Stanzi back and at 100% for the Orange Bowl.
Take the Haweyes getting the 6 points in this one. This should be a close game and Iowa is more equipped to score quickly if they need to.
