As Tom Brady limped of the field in pain on Sunday, the Patriots hoped their season didn't go with him. Sports Illustrated is reporting that Brady has major ligament damage, possibly a torn ACL. True to form the Patriots have given no official statements as of yet. Bill Belichick has a scheduled press conference at 3PM on Monday.

Brady was 7-of-11 passing for 76 yards before heading to the locker room. Brady was hit by Chiefs DB Bernard Pollard midway through the first quarter and awkwardly fell to the ground. Pollard reportedly heard Brady scream out in pain as he went to the turf. Brady was helped off of the field and into the locker room and did not return.

Back-up quarterback Matt Cassel took over for Brady and went 13-of-18
for 152 yards and one touchdown. Cassel's electrified the crowd with his first pass, it came on a third and one when he hooked up with Randy Moss on a 51 yard sideline route. Cassel later found Moss in the back of the end-zone for his only touchdown pass of the day. Cassel did a solid job in relief, doing enough for his Patriots to come away with a 17-10 victory.

The Boston Globe is reporting that the Patriots will be bringing former Buccaneers QB Chris Simms for a physical and a workout. Simms was selected with the 97th overall pick in the 2003 draft by the Bucs. In 2005, after a season ending injury to then starter Brian Griese, Simms got his chance. Simms started 11 games for Tampa Bay in '05, he threw for over 2,000 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Simms would be expected to back-up Cassel.
