Wes Welker Not a very good day for the New England Patriots this Sunday in Houston. Although they had the AFC Eastern division locked up coming into their game against the Texans, the 34-27 loss to Houston puts them in danger of dropping to the conference's fourth seed.
Some might say, "So what, does that really make a difference?"
Maybe not, but the Patriots left their starters in for most of the game and the unthinkable happened. They may have lost wide receiver Wes Welker with a knee injury.
Welker was helped to the sideline by members of the Patriots' medical staff. He buried his head in a towel while sitting on the bench and was later carted to the locker room.
Welker caught a pass from Tom Brady on New
When the Pats wide-out went down, a nearby player immediately called for the trainers. Brady and fellow receiver Randy Moss kneeled over Welker, even coach Bill Belichick walked out onto the field to check on Welker.
Welker entered the game with 122 catches for 1,336 yards and four touchdowns this season.
News also surfaced on Sunday about quarterback Tom Brady's health. According to reports, Brady has played the last several games with three broken ribs. Apparently, Brady also has a broken right ring finger.
It is believed that the finger injury has bother Brady a lot more than the ribs, however, he has not missed any time because of them.
