Sunday afternoon when Arizona host the Green Bay Packers, the Cardinals still have an outside chance of earning the No. 2 seed and a bye next weekend.
The Green Bay Packers locked up a wild-card spot last weekend when they pounded the Seattle Seahawks 48-10 at Lambeau Field. The win was their sixth in the last seven games for the Packers and it assured them of a meeting with the fourth seeded team in next week's NFC Playoffs.
NFL odds makers are calling the Cards a slight home favorite as the spread in Vegas is at about a field goal. The line is sitting at, Arizona -3 with the total in the game set at 44.
To get that second seed, the Cardinals first need to beat the Packers, then the Giants must win at Minnesota and Dallas must beat Philadelphia. Since New York and Minnesota play an early game, the Cardinals will know more about what's at stake at game-time.
If the Vikings win, a tie between Dallas and Philadelphia would be the only thing that would prevent this game being a preview of next week's wild-card game.
At 10-5 overall, the Packers have struggled a bit on the road. Their 4-3 record away from Lambeau Field could be a problem as they will have to win some road games if plan on making a run at the Super Bowl.
Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers has put MVP type numbers. Rodgers has thrown for over 4,000 yards and 29 touchdowns in 2009. Apparently, answering any lingering questions about whether or not his team should have held on to Brett Favre.
Look for Rodgers to have another big day this Sunday. The Pack will win this one.
Take the Packers getting the points on the road.
