Texas Tech coach Mike Leach guided the Red Raiders to bowl games in each of his 10 seasons as the head man, all the while transforming the team's offense into one of the most electrifying in the nation.

All that success was not enough to help Leach keep his job. Just three days after learning their head coach had been fired, the Red Raiders will try to move forward under interim coach Ruffin McNeill when they face an undermanned Michigan State team in the Alamo Bowl.

NCAA odds makers like the Red Raiders chances as they are listed as heavy favorites against the Spartans. The spread in Vegas is at more than a touchdown. The line is set at, Texas Tech -9 with the total in the game at 60.

Leach, the winningest coach in Red Raiders history was fired earlier in the week for the alleged mistreatment of an injured player.

"I have never and would never intentionally harm or endanger a player," Leach said in the affidavit. "I am committed to Texas Tech University and the well being of my football players."

As far as the game goes, it will be interesting to see how the Texas Tech players preform on the field. Neither Michigan State nor Texas Tech plays a lot of defense so, expect a lot of scoring in this one. Both teams' offense is all about throwing the ball all around the field.

I think it going to be extremely hard for the Texas Tech players to be as focused on this game as they should be. The Michigan State offense will play well and keep this one close.
