Broncos vs Raiders
Broncos vs Raiders
Game two of ESPN's Monday Night Football double-header features the Denver Broncos and the Oakland Raiders. The Broncos come in to McAfee Coliseum as 3 point favorites against their AFC West rival Raiders with the total set at 41.

Raider owner Al Davis went on a multi-million dollar spending spree in the off season and expects the "Silver and Black" to win and win now. Oakland will be unleashing their three-heading monster rushing attack. Darren McFadden, Justin Fargis and Michael Bush should give the Raiders a solid run game in 2008. Tonight, the trio look to feast on a Broncos run defense that ranked 30th in the league last year.

The key to the Raiders success however, will be QB JaMarcus Russell. If Russell is not an effective passer, the rest on the NFL will be able to defend the run. Oakland coach Lane Kiffin told reporters that Russell will have to perform well in order for the Raiders
to have a chance to win Monday night and beyond.

"I think that's the natural thing to think because we do feel very good about all three of our tailbacks and our run game. But we can't be one dimensional," Kiffin said. "We need to be able to attack and throw the ball, you have to have some explosion in your passing game to be able to score points."

Denver had a disappointing 7-9 season a year ago and they are looking to make their way back to becoming a consistent playoff team. QB Jay Cutler, now in his third season as the starter in Denver, gets better each time he straps on the pads. If the Broncos offensive line can give Cutler some time he should be able to pick a part a weak Oakland secondary. Broncos head coach Mike Shanahan will use both Selvin Young and Andre Hall to establish the run and move the ball down the field.

The Raiders should keep it close for a while, but expect Denver to win this one in the fourth quarter. Take Denver and give the 3 points.
