Stanford Cardinal This season's Sun Bowl in El Paso features the Oklahoma Sooners and the Stanford Cardinal, two teams with similar records, however having very different kinds of seasons.
Behind the nation's leading rusher and Heisman Trophy runner-up Toby Gerhart, the Cardinal look to conclude their best season in eight years on a high note as they face the Sooners. Oklahoma, on the other hand, may be looking do the same after a disappointing one.
As inconsistent as Oklahoma has been all season, NCAA odds makers are still calling the Sooners a heavy favorite in this one. The spread in Vegas is sitting at, Oklahoma -10 with the total in the contest set at 55.
At 8-4, Stanford is ranked 19th and is coming off its first
The senior has rushed for 1736 yards and 26 touchdowns. That is more than any other player in the nation, helping Stanford finish second in the Pac-10 after going 5-7 last season.
"I let the production and play speak for itself," Gerhart said. "There wasn't a lot of preseason hype, or no preseason hype to be exact. To be recognized for what you do on the field and not as a media baby, that makes it that much more special."
Look for the Cardinal to put an exclamation point on a great season agianst the Sooners.
Take Stanford getting the 10 points.
