Arizona Wildcats Odds The 2009 Pacific Life Holiday Bowl kicks off on Wednesday night from Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego with the Nebraska Cornhuskers taking on the Arizona Wildcats in a Pac-10 versus Big 12 match-up that should prove to be a good one.
Arizona is going to have their hands full against a Nebraska team that was just one second away from pulling off the biggest upset of 2009 and clinching a BCS bowl berth.
NCAA odds makers are calling the Cornhuskers a slight favorite in this one as the Vegas line is sitting at about a field goal in this one. The spread is currently listed at, Nebraska -2.5 with the total in the contest set at 41.
Both of these teams are lead by extremely good defenses and this game could turn out to be one of the best pure football games of the entire bowl season.
Nebraska
With an 8-4 record, the Wildcats looked very good to close out the season as well. Arizona won five of its last seven games, including back-to-back road wins against Arizona State and USC to finish second in the Pac-10.
This game will mark the second time these two teams have met in the Holiday Bowl. Back in 1998, the Wildcats won a close one 23-20 over the Cornhuskers.
Look for Wednesday to be another nail-biter. But this time Nebraska comes out on top by about the same margin.
Take the Cornhuskers and give the 2.5 points.
