Sunday night in Charlotte, Brett Favre, Adrian Peterson and the Minnesota Vikings come to town to take on Steve Smith and the Carolina Panthers in an NFC conference match-up that could be very important for the Vikings.

After New Orleans finally fell to the Dallas Cowboys on Saturday night, the Vikings are now just one game back of the Saints for home field advantage in the NFC playoffs.

NFL odds makers are calling the Vikings a heavy road favorite in this one. The Vegas line is sitting at, Minnesota -8.5 with the total in the game set at 42.5.

At 11-2, the Vikings have secured a spot in the postseason, even though their quarterback threw three interceptions in the last two games. Favre equaled his total through the first 11 games and he threw just three touchdowns after tossing
seven in the previous two contests.

"I don't think I'm falling apart in December like most people seem to think," said Favre. "So I feel fine. I don't feel much different than most guys in that locker room at this stage of the season."

The Panthers have lost three of four and are coming off a 20-10 defeat to the New England Patriots last Sunday. Quarterback Matt Moore will be making his second straight start for the injured Jake Delhomme. Moore was 15 of 30 for 197 yards and one touchdown in the loss to New England.

All the talk about the quarterbacks in this one, may not matter. This game is going to be decided on the ground with Adrian Peterson and DeAngelo Williams.

The Panthers are fourth in the NFL in rushing with an average of about 150 yards per game, but that would be enough.

Take the Vikings and give the points.
