Sunday afternoon in Lincoln Financial Field, the Philadelphia Eagles get set to host the San Francisco 49ers in a huge game within the NFC playoff picture.

After the Dallas Cowboys ended the New Orleans Saints bid for perfection on Saturday night, the 9-4 Eagles need to win to stay ahead of the now 9-5 Cowboys for the top spot in the NFC East. The 6-7 Niners are two games back of the NFC West leading Arizona Cardinals with three to play.

NFL odds makers are calling the Eagles a heavy home favorite in this one. The line in Vegas is sitting at, Philadelphia -8 with the total in the game set at 40.5.

The weather could play a major role in this
game.

The league pushed the start-time back from 1:00 to 4:15 in the hopes that the almost two feet of snow that was dumped on the Philadelphia area on Saturday could be cleared. Although the snow is expected to pass by game-time, frigid temperatures and wind could come into play.

That might favor the ground game of the 49ers. Running back Frank Gore has pounded out over 800 yards in limited duty this season. The Niners are 5-0 in 2009 when Gore gets 16 or more attempts. Last week against the Cardinals, Gore had 167 yards on the ground and a touchdown.

Look for the 49ers to keep this one close with ball control and good defense.

Take San Francisco getting the 8 points on the road.
