Jacksonville Jaguars Thursday night in Jacksonville Stadium, the 13-0 Indianapolis Colts come to town to take on the 7-6 Jaguars.
Indianapolis has wrapped up the AFC's No. 1 seed for the playoffs. So, the unbeaten Colts have very little at stake over the next three weeks, however coach Jim Caldwell insists that finishing the regular season undefeated isn't a top priority. But he still plans to play his starters Thursday night against a Jags team that likely needs to win its final three games to make the postseason.
NFL odds makers are calling the Colts a road favorite as the Vegas line is sitting at, Indianapolis -3.5 with the total set at 43.
With their 28-16 victory over the Denver Broncos on Sunday, the Colts moved to 13-0 and won home-field advantage throughout the playoffs. They also set NFL records for consecutive regular-season wins with 22 and victories
The Jags are right smack in the middle of the AFC wild-card race. Jacksonville controls their own destiny, if they can win out, they will be in the post-season. At 7-6, they have the same record as the Ravens, Dolphins and Jets.
The Jaguars' offense struggled badly last week, gaining just 217 yards. David Garrard went 11 for 26 and was sacked three times, while Maurice Jones-Drew was held to 59 yards rushing.
Their offense revolves around the run. They typically need Jones-Drew to play well to be successful. They are 6-2 when Jones-Drew rushes for at least 76 yards, although one of those losses came September 13th, when he ran for 97 yards and a TD.
Look for the Colts to play hard and keep their starters in for the entire game, at least for one more week. Don't let them fool you, they would love to go undefeated.
Take the Colts and give the 3.5 points.
