Peyton Manning Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning watched in disbelief as pass after pass hit the ground on Sunday against the Denver Broncos.
Then he demonstrated why he is arguably the best quarterback ever to play the game. Manning led Indianapolis on a late Touchdown drive to beat the Broncos 28-16.
"I thought Denver made some plays, and we had some bad luck with bouncing balls there," said Manning. "We kind of weathered the storm, and the defense did a great job. So it was kind of two different games in terms of momentum, but fortunately we finished on a high note."
With the win, Indianapolis broke a tie with the New England Patriots for most consecutive regular-season, they became the seventh team in the history of the league to start 13-0.
"It does feel good. I'm a part of history right now, so it feels real good," said linebacker Clint Session. "It's something we can tell our kids and grand-kids that we did something no one else had done. It's definitely a great accomplishment."
Manning led the Colts to scores on three of its first four drives then things went cold.
After completing 10 of 16 passes, Manning went just 6 of 22 including missing 9 of 10 throws with three interceptions over a stretch. He hadn't thrown that many picks in a game since tossing 6 in San Diego in 2007.
Like he's displayed time and time again Manning pulled it together and the Colts got the win.
