With a loss to the Indianapolis Colts, the Tennessee Titans thrilling run came to an end last week after five straight wins, but they're determined to reach the playoffs despite the long odds.

That streak ended last week with the 27-17 loss, putting Tennessee at 5-7 and two games behind the Jacksonville Jaguars for the AFC's final wild-card berth. This week against the St. Louis Rams may be exactly what they need to get thing going again.

NFL odds makers are calling the Titans a heavy home favorite as the line in Vegas is sitting at Tennessee -13 with the total in the game set at 41.

With the Titans still feeling optimistic, Tennessee surely will need to close out the season with four straight wins for any chance at the post-season. However, they would need a lot of help as well. There are four AFC teams sitting just one game back of the Jaguars.

"Realistically, most of it's out of our control," said coach Jeff Fisher, who is searching for his third straight winning season. "We need to win out, and they're aware of that. The only chance we've got is to win the next one."

Quarterback Vince Young has been slowed by a right knee injury, but is expected to play and they need him. Since Young replaced Kerry Collins as the starter, the Titans are 5-1.

The Rams have simply not been any good in this league for a while now, however they do have Steven Jackson and he has basically been the St. Louis offense.

In last week's loss to Chicago, Jackson rushed for 112 yards on 28 carries for his fifth 100-yard performance in six games, but he got no help. Quarterback Kyle Boller threw for just 113 yards as he lost his 10th straight start dating to 2007.

Don't look for the Rams to put it together this on the road against the Titans. Tennessee really believes in themselves and St. Louis is just going through the motions at this point.

Take the Titans and give the points.
