Both the Cincinnati Bengals and the Minnesota Vikings are moving toward division titles, however neither team looked particularly good that last time they took the field.

The 9-3 Bengals may have assured themselves of a winning record for only the second time in 19 years last week in a 23-13 victory over the Detroit Lions. However, managing just six points in the second half agianst one of the leagues worst is not how Cincinnati wanted to do it.

The 9-3 Bengals may have assured themselves of a winning record for only the second time in 19 years last week in a 23-13 victory over the Detroit Lions. However, managing just six points in the second half agianst one of the leagues worst is not how Cincinnati wanted to do it.

They certainly would have liked to gain a little more momentum as they head into the Metrodome this week against the Vikings. In fact, this game against Minnesota is going to tell us a lot about the up-start Bengals and their new found success.

NFL odds makers are calling the Vikings about a touchdown home favorite in this one. The line in Vegas is sitting at, Minnesota -6 with the total in the game set at 43.

At 10-2, the Vikings are looking to bounce back from last week's loss to the Arizona Cardinals. The Vikings will wrap up a playoff spot with a victory Sunday and a division crown will go along with it if Green Bay loses.

It's going to be interesting to see what Brett Favre, Adrian Peterson and the rest of the potent Vikings offense can do against a Bengals defense that is giving up a league-low 15.6 points per game and is only getting better. Over their last six contests, that average has gone down to 11.5 and no one has been able to muster more than 280 yards of total offense.

As impressive as those stats may sound, those last six games included match-ups against the Brown, Lions, Raiders and Bears. While 11.5 points per game is still impressive, against anyone, I think the Bengals are going to be exposed as what they are, good, but not yet so great.

Take the Vikings and give the 6 points at home.
