Sunday afternoon in Reliant Stadium, the Houston Texans host the Seattle Seahawks in a game in which both teams are all but out of the NFL playoff picture.

The 5-7 Texans came into this season with high hopes that included reaching the post-season for the first time in franchise history. The Seahawks were trying to return following a woeful 2008 campaign.

NFL odds makers like the Texans in this one. The spread in Vegas is sitting at about a touchdown as the line is set at, Houston -7 with the total in the match-up at 44.5.

Instead of playoff matchups, the motivation in Houston is surrounding their chance to clinch a winning season for the first time in team history. If they can win out.

"We need
something good to happen to us," said head coach Gary Kubiak. "Nobody's feeling very good right now, you've got to play back the confidence, you've got to go out and make the plays to get your confidence back as a football team and we're going to do that."

The 5-7 Seahawks can also get to a winning record if they can win out. Seattle is on the right track as they are coming off two of their best performances all season and it is thanks to the defense.

After giving up an average of 30.2 points during a five-game stretch, Seattle has allowed 17 points in consecutive weeks, including last week's 20-17 victory over visiting San Francisco.

Look for the Seahawks to stay on a roll. I like Seattle to win this one outright.

Take the Seahawks getting the 7 points.
