Baltimore Ravens Odds
For the Ravens, it has truly been an up and down year. Baltimore, at 6-6, has struggled to find consistency this season after starting 3-0, then losing three straight and flip-flopping wins ever since. They really need to rattle off a few wins to get themselves in to the post-season.

This week, hosting the 2-10 Detroit Lions may be just what they need to get things rolling as the Lions, losers of 33 of 36, will be without quarterback Matthew Stafford while he rests an injured non-throwing shoulder.

NFL odds makers don't give the Lions much of a chance in this one as the spread is sitting at about two touchdowns. The Vegas line is set at, Baltimore -14 with the total in the game at 39.5.

Right now the Ravens are the seventh seed in the AFC, that puts them on the outside looking in. Last week against the Green Bay Packers they had a chance to gain some ground, but lost 27-14 after committing a season-high
12 penalties, including 5 for pass-interference committed by a confused secondary.

That secondary could get a lift if star safety Ed Reed can return from ankle and hip injuries that kept him out against the Packers. The five-time Pro Bowler is expected to be in the line-up, but is questionable for Sunday.

For the Lions, Daunte Culpepper will start in Stafford's place. The 11-year veteran was 2 of 3 for 49 yards last week against the Bengals, and has thrown for 330 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions in two starts this season.

The Lions and the Ravens don't have a lot of history. The two teams have split two matchups. They last met in Baltimore on Dec. 27, 1998, a 19-10 Ravens victory.

The Lions don't have much of a chance in this one, but in my experience, anything that looks like a lock usually turns out to be a dead loser. So, while I think Baltimore will win, I think Detroit will keep it close.

Take the Lions getting the 14 points.
