Miami Dolphins Odds The AFC Playoff picture is heating up and it doesn't get any hotter than this week's match-up between the Miami Dolphins and the Jacksonville Jaguars.
A sixth straight home win Sunday would allow the 7-5 Jaguars to keep a leg up in the wild-card race, but the 6-6 Dolphins can bolster their own playoff hopes as they visit Jacksonville Municipal Stadium for the first time in more than six years.
NFL odds makers don't seem to know what to make out of this match-up. The line opened at, Jacksonville -2.5, however early action has been all over the place as some sportsbooks have the line currently at 2, while others have it as high as 3.5. Currently, Bogdog has the Jaguars at -3 with the total in the game set at 44.
The Jaguars are by far the best team in the NFL; that no one has seen anyway. Jacksonville has not sold out a home game in their 67,000+ seat
That will gave the Jags sole possession of the AFC's No. 6 seed and their 6-2 conference record could be a huge difference-maker should that final spot come down to a two or three-team tie-break.
The Dolphins got a huge come-from-behind win agianst the New England Patriots last week that has them just one game behind the Pats for the AFC South. However, Miami's remaining schedule has them up against teams fighting for the final wild-card spot every week. After the Jags this week, they have Tennessee, Houston and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
This one is obviously going to come down to rushing defense. Both teams rely on the run and defense that can stop it will be key.
I like the Jags at home in this one. Take Jacksonville and give the 3 points.
