The NCAA Football season is under way and week two has the Stanford Cardinal traveling to Tempe to take on the 15th ranked Sun Devils. This PAC-10 match-up has seen Dennis Erickson's Sun Devils dominate the last two meetings beating the Cardinal by a combined 79-6 score.

Arizona State is in the midst of a four game stretch at home to open the season. ASU is coming off a 30-13 win over Northern Arizona last week. Senior quarterback Rudy Carpenter went 22 of 28 throwing for 388 yards and one touchdown in their opening week victory. Running back Dimitri Nance led the rushing attack with two touchdowns on the ground. Mike Jones topped 100 yards receiving as the Sun Devils cruised to an easy win.

Including their trip to Tempe, the Cardinal plays four of its next five games on the road. Their defense win be the key against ASU. Corner back Wopamo Osaisai was named PAC-10 defensive player of the week for his efforts last week against Oregon State. Osaisai led Stanford's defence with a team high 11 tackles and a pair of pass break-ups. They will have to pressure ASU's Rudy Carpenter into making mad decisions and bring him to the turf as much as possible. The Cardinal will be coming as, the Sun Devils allowed a league-worst 55 sacks last year.

Stanford ranked second in the conference in turnover ratio in 2007 and got off to a good start last week against OSU, with a 3-0 advantage. They will have to do much of the same to stay in this weeks contest with the Sun Devils.

Arizona state will win at home, but if Stanford plays as well as they did last week they should keep it close. Take Stanford plus the 14.
