New Orleans Saints Sunday afternoon in the Georgia Dome, the Falcons host the New Orleans Saints in an NFC South match-up that Atlanta needs to win to claw themselves back into the playoff picture.
It won't be easy against the 12-0 Saints. New Orleans clinched the division title and tied a franchise record for wins in a season with a wild comeback last week, beating Washington 33-30 in overtime.
NFL odds makers are calling the Saints heavy road favorites in this one. The spread in Vegas is listed at, New Orleans -10 with the total in the contest set at 49.5.
In 2008, the Saints lost five games by three points or less. This season thing have changed. New Orleans is finding way to win over and over again. The Saints rallied from a 21-point deficit to beat Miami 46-34 in
Quarterback Drew Brees tied the game with about a minute left with a 53-yard touchdown pass and Garrett Hartley booted an 18-yard field goal in OT for the win.
Without Michael Turner, Atlanta was held to 61 yards rushing in a 34-7 loss to Philadelphia last Sunday. Turner was one of six offensive starters, including quarterback Matt Ryan, to miss time in the loss.
Both Turner and Ryan sat out of the Falcons practice on Thursday and are listed as questionable for Sunday. If Atlanta is without both Ryan and Turner, I just don't see them having any chance to take down the Saints.
Still this is a division game and the Falcons must put together some more wins, they will play hard and keep it close.
Take the Falcons getting the 10 points at home.
