Washington Redskins With Donovan McNabb and the Eagles in the middle of a tight three-team race for the lead in the NFC East, Philadelphia can't afford a let down when they host the Washington Redskins this Sunday at Lincoln Financial Field.
At 6-4, Philadelphia has a 1/2 game lead over the Giants and sit 1 game behind the first place Cowboys in the East. Washington is 3-7, but would like to shake up the division with a win.
NFL odds makers are calling the Eagles heavy home favorites in this one. The spread in Vegas is sitting at, Philadelphia -9.5 with the total in the game set at 40.5.
The Eagles will be without running back Brian Westbrook again as he continues to sit because of multiple concussions. Rookie tailback LeSean McCoy has done a good job replacing Westbrook in the Philadelphia offense.
The Eagles could have fallen a game behind New York and two in back of the Cowboys with a loss last Sunday in Chicago,
"Before we started the drive, we kind of huddled up and said a few words," said McCoy."Donovan McNabb spoke to us and said, 'Let's go. We've been in this position before, let's do it.' And I think everybody just kind of got together and drove down, inch by inch and play by play."
For the Redskins, their list of injured players might just be longer than the list of healthy one. Jim Zorn's offense has lost running back Ladell Betts for the season. He was filling in for Clinton Portis who is also out with concussion symptoms.
Now Rock Cartwright is expected to carry the load for the Redskins on the ground.
Expect the Philadelphia offense to stay hot and get a boost from their win over Chicago. Take the Eagles and give the points at home.
