Sunday in Green Bay the San Francisco 49ers need a win to remain in the NFC playoff picture when they face the Packers on their home field. In fact, both teams will be looking to gain some momentum while the Packers try for an eighth consecutive victory over the 49ers on at Lambeau Field.

At 4-5, the Niners are a game behind the Packers at 5-4 in the race for a post-season berth. Green Bay is tied with Philadelphia, New York and Atlanta for the two wild card spots.

NFL odds makers are calling the Packers about a touchdown home favorite in this one. The Vegas line is sitting at, Green Bay -6.5 with the total in the game set at 42.

Green Bay will head into this one knowing that they need to get rolling as they have the Detroit Lions next, on Thanksgiving Day before a tougher stretch
against Baltimore followed games at Chicago and Pittsburgh.

The Niners are coming off a very good defensive performance last Thursday night against the Chicago Bears. San Francisco did not allow a touchdown in their 10-6 victory in Candlestick Park.

With running back Frank Gore back and healthy, the 49ers ground game can be extremely dangerous. Gore pounded out 104 yards and a touchdown on 25 carries in the Bears game. However, he will really have to step it up against the 4th ranked Packers defense that has let up just an average of 282.3 yards per game.

The key for Green Bay will be protecting quarterback Aaron Rodgers. The Packers have allowed a league high 41 sacks thus far.

Look for the 49ers to bring some heat to Rodgers and try to control the game with the ground game.

Take the 49ers getting the 6.5 points on the road.
