Wednesday night under the lights of Scheumann Stadium, the 1-9 Ball State Cardinals host the 8-2 Central Michigan Chippewas in a MAC Conference match-up.

At 6-0 in the conference, the Chippewas look to keep unblemished MAC record intact as they head to Muncie, IN to take on a Cardinals team that has struggled to find wins in 2009.

NCAA odds makers are calling Central Michigan more than a two touchdown heavy road favorite coming into this one. The Vegas line is sitting at, the Chippewas -15 with the total in the contest set at 50.

Last week against Toledo, the Chips used a huge second quarter to erase an early 7 point Rockets lead. Four rushing touchdowns include three from quarterback Dan LeFevour catapulted Central Michigan to a 35-14 half-time lead and they never looked back.

LeFevour finish the night going 20-of-39
for 341 yards and two touchdowns to go along with his three scores on the ground. Central Michigan lead 56-14 into the fourth quarter before head coach Butch Jones took out most of his defensive regulars. Toledo scored late to bring the final score to 56-28.

Ball State may have only one win on the season, however, the Cardinals have been playing a lot better as of late. Against Eastern Michigan on October 24th, Ball State got their first win of 2009. Since then, the Cardinals lost a heartbreaker against Ohio in which a late fourth quarter touchdown by the Bobcats was the difference.

Last week they hung around with a highly favored Northern Illinois team scoring a fourth quarter touchdown to pull them within a touchdown of the lead.

I like the Cardinals to do the same this week against the Chippewas. They will stay within the 15 points.

Take Ball State getting the points.
