Boise State needs to do more than just remain unbeaten against the Idaho Vandals on Saturday, they will need to turn some heads in their last four games to pass TCU in the BCS standings.
They didn't do that last week when there defense struggled to get stops as the Broncos beat Louisiana Tech 45-35 in a game that they expected to win a lot more convincingly.
NCAA odds makers are calling the Broncos huge favorites once again this week against the Vandals. The Vegas line opened at, Boise State -28, but has jumped all the way to -31.5 with the total holding tight at 64.
Against LA-Tech, the Broncos offense had little trouble moving the ball, racking up 507 yards, but the defense, which entered the contest tied for 11th in the Football Bowl Subdivision in points allowed
at 13.6 per game, let the Bulldogs to stay in the game.
Boise really needs to step-up and play well in this one.
The Broncos have won 10 straight over the Vandals since a 36-35 overtime loss in 1998, and has scored an average of 64.3 points in the last three meetings at Bronco Stadium.
But don't expect Idaho to let Boise walk all over them. At 7-3, the Vandals have as many wins as Boise States last three opponents combined. This Idaho team is as good as the Broncos have seen in quite a while, but the Vandals my be without their starting quarterback.
Nathan Enderle missed last week's game against Fresno State and is going to be a game-time decision. If Enderle plays and is 100%, I like the Vandals getting the 31.5 points, however, if there is no definitive word on his status, stay away from this one.
