Saturday afternoon in Williams-Brice Stadium, Steve Spurrier and his Gamecocks would love nothing more than to ruin the Florida Gators perfect season and send the national championship picture into a tailspin.

However, the No. 1 ranked Gators have won 17 of 18 against South Carolina with the loss coming in a 30-22 defeat in Columbia on November 12, 2005, Spurrier's first game against the program he coached from 1990-2001.

NCAA odds makers like the Gators chances in this one as Florida is being calling a heavy road favorite by Vegas prognosticators. The line is sitting at, Florida -17.5 with the total in the game set at 43.

Florida has won the last three meeting over South Carolina by a combining to score 107 points in the last two including last year's 56-6 rout in Gainesville.

After last Saturday's 33-16 loss to Arkansas, the Gamecocks are trying to avoid another difficult finish after starting 5-1. The Gamecocks were 7-3 last season before losing their final three games, and dropped their final five games of 2007 to finish 6-6.

"We are just not real good right now. I don't know how else to say it," Spurrier said. "Maybe all of the good fortune we had earlier is catching up with us a bit."

This is the worst possible time for South Carolina to be off it's game, as the Gators come in to town. This game could get ugly.

Take Florida and give the 17.5 points on the road. Parlay it with the over. The Gators might score 43 points all bu themselves.
