College Football Picks Wednesday night on ESPN2, the Toledo Rockets head to Kelly/Shorts Stadium in Mount Pleasant, Michigan to take on the Central Michigan Chippewas in a MAC Conference match-up.
Central Michigan is in the drivers seat of the West Division with a 5-0 conference record, but Toledo hopes to make some noise and play the part of spoiler as the Rockets, at 2-3, are out of contention for a MAC title.
NCAA odds makers are calling the Chippewas heavy home favorites in this one. The Vegas line is sitting at, Central Michigan -17.5 with the total in the game set at 61.
Toledo has lost two consecutive games including a 34-21 loss to winless, Miami (OH) on October 31st. They have been hit hard by injuries at the quarterback position and their inability to stop their opponents from scoring hasn't made it easy to record many wins.
The
That means that Toledo is going to have to try to find a way to out shoot Central Michigan quarterback Dan LeFevour, highly regarded as the league's best signal caller.
LeFevour has racked up over 1,800 yards and 16 touchdowns through the air while adding on another 500 or yards on the ground.
The Chippewas senior passer will look to bounce back after a rough outing last time out against Boston College. LeFevour completed 20 of 34 passes for just 152 yards with no touchdowns and an interception and was stymied on the ground as well carrying the ball just 11 times for 26 yards on the day.
But Toledo is not BC. Look for LeFevour to rebound well and have a good game. Central Michigan will dominate against the Rockets.
Take the Chippewas and give the points, this one could get ugly.
