With a share of first place in the NFC East on the line Sunday in Philadelphia, it won't be hard for baseball fans to turn their attention from the World Series to the NFL as the 4-2 Eagles play host to the 5-2 Giants in Lincoln Financial Field.
Although the cities of New York and Philadelphia will no doubt be focusing on the Yankees and Phillies this weekend, football fans will certainly be in for a treat as both of these teams have their sights set on a Super Bowl in 2009.
NFL odds makers see this one to be a very close game. The Eagles opened as a 3 point home favorite, however, with much of the early money coming in on the Giants, the Vegas line now sits at, New York -1 with the total in the game at 44.5.
For the Eagles, running back Brian Westbrook's status remains a game-time decision for head coach Any Reid after he suffered a concussion in last week's win agianst the Washington Redskins.
"We'll see what kind of improvement he makes," said Reid on Wednesday. "He is doing the tests that the guys do throughout the week here. We'll see how he does by the time we get to game time."
After a 5-0 start, the Giants have lost two straight, but records don't usually mean much when these bitter rivals face-off.
"It is a divisional game; we have a half-a-game lead on the Philadelphia Eagles," said Giants coach Tom Coughlin. "The game is in Philadelphia. I don't know that it gets any more exciting."
The last time these two met, the Giants were the NFC's No. 1 seed in last years playoffs, but they fell 23-11 to the Eagles in the divisional round.
Look for the Eagles to bring all kinds of pressure to try and disrupt the Giants passing game. They should be in quarterback Eli Manning's face all day long.
Take the Eagles getting the points at home.
