Sunday afternoon in "Big D", the Cowboys play host to Matt Ryan and the Atlanta Falcons as Dallas looks to come out of their bye with a win against a key NFC opponent.
The 4-1 Falcons will be looking to do the same and try to keep the pressure on the undefeated New Orleans Saints in the NFC South. During their bye week, the Cowboys watched the other teams in the NFC East all lose. That put the Cowboys into a second-place tie with Philadelphia, 1 1/2 games behind the Giants.
NFL odds makers are calling the Cowboys home favorites against a very good Falcons team. The Vegas line is at, Dallas -5 with the total in the game sitting at 48.
At 3-2, the Dallas Cowboys have recorded all three of their victories against winless teams and they needed overtime against the Kansas City on Oct. 11. The Cowboys may have the league's second-rated offense and third-rated rushing attack, but quarterback Tony Romo has just six touchdown passes this year.
The Falcons have been very good in winning their last two games, allowing an average of 91.5 yards rushing. Star receiver Roddy White has gotten on the same page as quarterback Matt Ryan and has hauled in three touchdowns in that span after he had just one in his first three contests.
Ryan has thrown for nine touchdown pass to just four interceptions thus far in his second season in the league.
The Cowboys have not shown that they can consistently win in 2009. I think that the Falcons have more talent in this one and should come away with the victory on the road.
Take the Falcons getting the points.
