The Florida Gators are undefeated, but it has not been easy. In fact, as the Gators premiered as the top team in the BCS Poll, they fell out of the No. 1 spot in the AP poll for the first time all season after winning by just three points last week against Arkansas as a 25-point favorite.
This week, they head to Davis Wade Stadium to take on the Mississippi State Bulldogs and are once again heavily favored.
NCAA odds makers see Florida a big performance in the Gators future as they have set the Vegas line at, Florida -22.5 with the total in the game sitting at 50.
One week after grinding out a 13-3 victory at then-No. 4 LSU, the 6-0 Gators had to rallied late for a 23-20 home win over a mediocre Razorbacks team last Saturday. But make no mistake about it, Florida is right where they deserve to be, atop the polls.
In what some are calling a slump since their big win over Kentucky, the Gators have won two straight conference games, still have a top Heisman candidate at quarterback and are at the top of nearly every statical category in the SEC.
Being doubted might be just what the Gators need to pick up the intensity.
As for this week against Mississippi State, the Bulldogs have lost four straight games against teams ranked in the Top 25. It doesn't appear that Florida should have to much trouble winning the game. The big question is whether or not they will cover the more than three touchdown point spread.
I think they will. This is going to be the week that the Florida Gators really break out of the funk that they have been in.
Take the Gators and give the 22.5 points on the road.
