California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has signed a bill allowing the construction of a 75,000-seat stadium that developers hope will lure an NFL franchise back to Los Angeles.

Schwarzenegger said he signed the environmental exemption bill last week but saved the announcement for a press conference in Industry, CA, where the stadium would be built about 15 miles east of Los Angeles.

After helping develop the Staples Center in downtown Los Angeles, Majestic Realty Co. is heading up the stadium project that is hoping to entice an NFL team.

Majestic has targeted several teams as candidates to move to the Los Angeles area. One of which is the Buffalo Bills. Bills management has been rumored to be considering a move to Toronto for some time now.

Some of the other teams that Majestic has been targeting are the Jacksonville Jaguars, Minnesota Vikings, St. Louis Rams, San Diego Chargers, Oakland Raiders and San Francisco 49ers.

There has been no real confirmed reports that any of these teams are considering a move, but the firm contends that the teams currently reside in stadiums that are either too small or can't be updated with luxury box seats or other revenue sources an NFL club needs to thrive.

Aside from from the obvious benefits have a team in the city would bring, the governor said that the new stadium would generate more than 18,000 jobs. Majestic guaranteed parking lot attendants and concession stand workers would be paid middle-class wages.
