Saturday night in Tuscaloosa, the 2nd ranked Alabama Crimson Tide host No. 22 South Carolina in a big SEC match-up. The Gamecocks have won four in a row including a 16-10 win against then No. 4 Mississippi and look to let their presence be know in the SEC with a win in Alabama.

The 6-0 Crimson Tide jumped past Texas in the latest ranking after their own win against Ole Miss last Saturday.

NCAA odds makers have Alabama as heavy home favorites against their conference rival. The Vegas line is sitting at, the Crimson Tide -18 with the total in the game set at 44.

Alabama took sole command in the SEC West as rival Auburn fell at Arkansas and LSU lost to No. 1 Florida. If Alabama wins the division, it could face the top-ranked Gators in the conference championship game Dec. 5 in Atlanta with a BCS title bid on the line.

The Crimson Tide is clearly one of the best college football teams we have seen in a while, coming out of any conference, but the dominating in a very tough SEC makes them look even more impressive.

"Can we stay focused on doing the things that we need to do to improve, to be as good as we can be?" asked Alabama coach Nick Saban. "We cannot get complacent because that is the key to the drill. The passion to want to do it, the passion to stay with it, the passion to continue to go through the grind, and there are numerous teams every week that have a difficult time with that and don't play well."

I don't think there is any question on whether or not the Crimson Tide wins this game. What scares me is the 18 points they have to give against the spread. I like the Gamecocks to put up some points in this game, but so will the Tide.
