Sooners vs Longhorns
Sooners vs Longhorns
This Saturday in Dallas, college football fans will get their last last chance to see Texas' Colt McCoy and Oklahoma's Sam Bradford on the same field, when the 20th ranked Sooners head to the Cotton Bowl to take on the 3rd ranked Longhorns in the Red River Rivalry.

Over the last few seasons, McCoy and Bradford have been two of the best quarterbacks in all of college football. Last year, both were Heisman Trophy finalists, with Bradford edging out McCoy, thanks to a spectacular 50-touchdown season.

Unexpectedly, these two fierce competitors have become great friends.

"I think that probably from a fan's perspective and people outside of the game think that it's crazy that I could be friends with Sam or that Sam could be friends with me, but we are and he's a great guy," McCoy said. "We've got a lot in common. But we both understand this is a huge game."

When
these two teams met last year, the match-up appeared to be a game that would decide the Big 12 South. However, after Texas' 45-35 win over the Sooners, the Longhorns were later upset by Texas Tech leaving Texas, Texas Tech and Oklahoma in a three-way tie in the South.

With the tie-breaker being the highest BCS ranking, it was the Sooners that got to advance to the Big 12 title game and subsequently on to play for the National Championship.

This season's match-up may have all the hype surrounding the quarterbacks, but both coaches are aware that Saturday's game also pits the two best defenses in the Big 12, with Texas ranking fourth in the nation and Oklahoma ninth.

Saturday's NCAA college football schedule is filled with great games, including USC at Notre Dame, Alabama hosting South Carolina and Virginia tech at Georgia Tech, but the Red River Rivalry game in Dallas should prove to be one of the best games of the weekend.
