With an 2-3 record, Redskins coach Jim Zorn is definitely on the hot seat, but the players in Washington are looking to the front office to unify the team and give their head man a vote of confidence.

According to the Washington Post, two prominent offensive players and a veteran defensive player who wished to remain anonymous told the paper that they would like to see management publicly get behind their coach so they can all move ahead in the season together and not have to deal with the constant questioning.

"I wish someone upstairs would just say he's going to be our coach for the season," said one of the unnamed players. "That way, we don't have to answer any more questions about it and everybody knows we're in this boat
together."

The Redskins are last in the NFC East with a 2-3 record. The team's three losses include a Week 3 defeat at Detroit, which ended the Lions' 19-game losing streak, a loss to Carolina that gave the Panthers their only win of the season and a Week 1 defeat to the New York Giants

The Giants game is the Redskins' only loss to a team with a winning record thus far.

The players feel that even a "no comment" by Redskins management regarding Zorn's status will lead to division within the team just when they are attempting to salvage their season.

Earlier this week, Redskins executive vice president of football operations Vinny Cerrato chose not to give Zorn an endorsement when reporters asked him about the coach.

Zorn has a career 10-11 record with the Redskins.
