USC vs Virginia The NCAA Football season is underway as the USC Trojans travel to Charlottesville to take on the Virginia Cavaliers. The Trojans are 19 1/2 point favorites on the road, the over sits at 42 1/2.
USC begins the 2008 season with something to prove after not making the National Championship Game last season. The Trojans had their sixth straight 11 win season in 2007 and felt they should have had an opportunity to play for the National Championship.
USC must replace 10 starters lost to the NFL from last year. "We have had a terrific run with the kids that have been with the program, that have won national championships,
Virginia and USC are playing for the first time in football on Saturday, in fact, Virgina is playing their first ever home game against a PAC 10 opponent. The #3 ranked Trojans are the highest ranked team to travel to Scott Stadium since #1 Florida State in 1999.
The Cavaliers peaked at #21 last year but they return only 10 starters from 2007. " We like to have some challenging games on an on-going basis," said coach Al Groh. "It's good for for our team. It brings out the best in our team."
USC should win over the Cavs. Take the Trojans and give the 19 1/2.
