On a foggy and cold night in Tulsa, the Boise State Broncos kept their BCS hopes alive as the were able to hold off a late Golden Hurricane rally and escape with a 28-21 win.

Broncos quarterback Kellen Moore completed 22 of his 32 pass attempts for just 187 yards, but tossed three touchdowns in the win that may be Boise State's last major test on the way to a BCS Bowl.

Coach Chris Petersen liked the victory, but knows that tonight's game would be the kind of impressive statement that pollsters would be looking for from the 6-0 Broncos.

"It's usually never good enough for a lot of people," Petersen said. "Tulsa's a good team, and this was going to be a good test for us. The
important thing is that we get a little bit better. Teams don't stay the same, and we won't either. We either need to get better or we're going to get passed by."

The teams jockeyed back and forth with the lead in the first quarter, but when Boise State took a 28-14 lead into the final period, the Broncos may have thought that they had the game wrapped up.

Tulsa wouldn't quit.

Tulsa quarterback G.J. Kinne brought his team within a touchdown with about nine minutes to play when he connected with Slick Shelley on a 55 yard touchdown pass.

The Golden Hurricane had one last chance to tie it in the final 2 minutes, but Boise State forced its fourth three-and-out of the second half to ice the game and survive with a win.
