College Football Odds Tuesday night at Malone Stadium, two Sun Belt Conference rivals will square off in front of a national television audience as the Arkansas State Red Wolves and the Warhawks of Louisiana-Monroe do battle on ESPN2.
A tough early season schedule has the Red Wolves at 1-3. With three straight loses to nationally ranked Nebraska, Iowa and conference favorite Troy, Arkansas State would love to get back on track against the Warhawks and get to 1-1 in the Sun Belt.
NCAA odds makers have this one pretty close as the Vegas line is sitting at, Louisiana Monroe -2 with the total in the contest set at 53.
The Wolves played well against the No. 11 ranked Hawkeyes on October 3, but Iowa proved to be too much coming away with the 24-21 victory. Even in the loss, Arkansas State put up a total of 296 yards, 17 first downs, and seven third down conversions. Quarterback Corey
Arnold has totaled at least 1000 yards rushing in each of his first three years at ASU, including 71 of the Red Wolves 262 rush yards in last year's 37-29 victory over Louisiana-Monroe.
The 3-2 Warhawks are coming off an impressive, 48-35, victory over Florida International. The Louisiana-Monroe quarterback Trey Revell and running back Frank Goodin combined to score 6 touchdowns leading the Warhawks to victory. Goodin rushed for 163 yards and gave the Warhawks the lead in the second quarter with his first touchdown run of the game. QB Trey Revell threw for a total of 273 yards and two touchdowns going 19-35.
This should be a close match-up, but look for Louisiana-Monroe to continue rolling on offense.
Take the Warhawks and give the two points.
