When the the Indianapolis Colts and the Tennessee Titans each looked at this game on their schedule back in August they had to figure that they would be competing for the lead in the AFC South. However, now that the first quarter of the season is in the books, the Titans are still looking for their first win and the Colts are trying to stay unbeaten.
With Peyton Manning and the Colts off a superb start with a franchise-record four consecutive 300-yard games, he is the league's top-rated passer and Indianapolis is in a familiar place.
NFL odds makers are calling the Colts visiting favorites in LP Field in Nashville. The Vegas line in this one is sitting at Indianapolis -3.5 with the total in the contest set at 45.
Things haven't gone as smoothly for the Titans this season.
Tennessee is off to their worst start since beginning 0-5 in 2006, and Super Bowl aspirations are all but gone as only one team in NFL history has started 0-4 and reached the playoffs, the 1992 San Diego Chargers.
Thanks to a lack-luster offense lead by Kerry Collins' six interceptions and a defense that has struggled to pressure the quarterback and create turnovers, the Titans have a lot of work to do to get back into contention.
Manning has led Indianapolis to a league-best 13 consecutive regular-season wins since last year's loss to the Titans, including a 23-0 home victory over Tennessee in a Week 17 finale with no playoff implications.
Look for much of the same tonight. Coming into the season, the Tennessee Titans were one of the league's most over-rated teams and they are showing their true colors.
Take the Colts and give the 3.5 points.
