This Saturday night in Death Valley, the fourth ranked LSU Tigers host the number one ranked Florida Gators in what just might end up being the game of the year in college football.
The biggest story coming out of this one is obviously the status of Florida quarterback Tim Tebow. Head coach Urban Meyer says that the 2007 Heisman Trophy winner will be a game time decision, but I just don't see how he could miss this one. Some news outlets are even reporting that Tebow will definitely play against LSU.
NCAA odds makers have Florida as more than a touchdown road favorite with the Vegas line sitting at, the Gators -8 with the total at 45.5.
The winner of this game has gone on to capture the last three BCS championships, and LSU picked up its highest-profile win of its 2007 championship season against the defending national champion Gators. Tebow led Florida to a 10-point fourth-quarter lead before the then top-ranked Tigers stormed back for a 28-24 win.
Now, the Gators are facing the prospect of making their return visit to Tiger Stadium and trying snap LSU's 32 consecutive Saturday night game winning streak.
Even if Tebow doesn't play, the Tigers will have to do everything right in this one to come out on top. The Tigers will need a big game out of All-SEC tailback Charles Scott. The Senior running back certainly has something to prove against the Gators. He's carried the ball a total of 16 times for 44 yards in LSU's last two meetings with Florida.
"Our offense has confidence in Charles Scott," Miles said. "Our offense has confidence in the ability to run the football. We just needed to do it and put it together."
Everything seems to be looking good for the Tigers, they may not win this game out-right, but they will put in a good showing at home.
Take the Tigers getting the 8 points at home.
