According to reports, the Cleveland Browns have agreed to send wide receiver Braylon Edwards to the New York Jets.

In the deal, the Jets will send wide receiver Chansi Stuckey, special teams player Jason Trusnik and draft picks to the Browns for the troubled but very talented, Edwards. Trusnik won AFC Special Teams Player of the Week last week and Stuckey is third on the Jets in receiving with 11 catches for 120 yards and a touchdown.

Edwards has struggled this year in Cleveland. Thus far, he has recorded just 10 catches for 139 yards during the team's 0-4 start. Edwards' breakout year was 2007, when he hauled in 80 balls for nearly 1,300 yards and 16 touchdowns. He regressed last year to 55 catches, 873 yards and only three scores.

With Edwards in the line-up, the Jets would have a receiver that gives rookie quarterback Mark Sanchez the legitimate deep threat that New York has lacked, however they also get a player facing a league investigation for off-the-field trouble.

Last November, Edwards was fined and given 30 hours of community service after he was found guilty of driving 120 mph. This past March, he was partying with suspended wide receiver Donte' Stallworth in Miami the night Stallworth later drove drunk and killed a pedestrian.

More recently, Edwards made headlines for allegedly assaulting a man outside a Cleveland nightclub. Apparently Edwards punched Edward Givens, a friend of Cavaliers star LeBron James on Monday.

"I've never crossed paths with Braylon before, but it seems like there's a little jealousy going on with Braylon and me and my friends. I have no idea why," James said. "I've never said anything to Braylon at all. But for him to do that is very childish. My friend is 130 pounds. Seriously. It's like hitting one of my kids. It doesn't make sense."

This had to be the final straw for the Browns as he has now been sent packing. Edwards is expected to arrive in New York sometime later today to take his physical.
