Wednesday night in Ruston, the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs host the Hawaii Warriors in a mid-week WAC showdown at Joe Aillet Stadium. The Bulldogs come into the game at 1-2 after getting its first win of the season a week and a half ago against Nicholls State.
The Warriors enter their conference opener with a 2-1 record. Hawaii suffered its first loss of the season last time out, falling 34-33 to the UNLV Rebels in Las Vegas.
Hawaii way be 6-1 in these two's last seven meetings, but NCAA odds makers have them as the underdog heading into this one. Vegas has the line at Louisiana Tech -4.5 with the total in the game set at 55.5.
Hawaii is expected to be able to move the football and it will likely come down to how well their defense plays. A season ago, the Hawaii defense was the strength of their team, but through three games this season, the Warriors rank 97th in the country in against the pass.
They will need a big game from Mana Silva as the Hawaii cornerback already has three interception this season.
For Louisiana Tech, they will be looking to continue their winning ways after last weeks victory. Quarterback Ross Jenkins completed 21 of his 30 pass attempts in the victory for 357 yards and two touchdowns. The Bulldogs got the ground game going as well, piling up 185 rush yards. Freshman running back D.J. Morrow led the team with 89 yards and a touchdown.
Look for Hawaii to spoil the party. Take Hawaii getting the 4.5 point.
