Saturday afternoon at Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium in Austin, the Longhorns host the UTEP Miners and with Texas quarterback Colt McCoy now fulling recovered from last week's flu, the Longhorns have to like their chances of staying undefeated against the University of Texas at El Paso.

At 3-0, the second-ranked Longhorns look to build on their first Big 12 win last week by continuing their dominance of non-conference opponents against the Miners.

NCAA odds makers like their chances. The Vegas line is sitting at Texas -30 with the total in the contest at 63.

Last week against Texas Tech, McCoy started slow, but finished with a vengeance throwing for almost all of his 205 yards in the second half while completing 15 of 18 pass attempts in the final two quarters. Reportedly, McCoy felt better after eating peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, of all things, at halftime.

"I just felt weak (in the first half). I wasn't myself," said McCoy. "(At halftime) I ate a bunch and drank a bunch. I felt recharged. I ended up playing great."

Texas coach Mack Brown liked the way his team came together in the second half against the Red Raiders.

"Survival," Brown said. "I'm proud of the way our guys grew up, the way they worked, and fought and hit."

Since a 38-28 loss to the Arkansas Razorbacks back on Sept. 13, 2003, the Longhorns have won 21 in a row against unranked non-conference opponents by an average of 36.6 points. Texas has won their three previous matchups with UTEP, including a 42-13 blow-out last September.

Don't expect things to change much on Saturday. Take the Longhorns and give the 30 points.
