Miami Dolphins Odds Monday night in Land Shark Stadium, Miami hosts the Indianapolis Colts on ESPN's Monday Night Football and find themselves as a underdog in their home opener. For the Fins, Monday's game is sandwiched between two tough road games; last Sunday's tough 7-19 loss to the Falcons in Atlanta and then next week they head to San Diego.
After winning the AFC East a season ago and now at 0-1, the Dolphins could conceivably be win-less after their first three games.
NFL odds makers are have the line sitting at Indianapolis -3. Not a huge spread, but a road favorite is always a tough cover. The total in the match-up has been posted at 42 in most sportsbooks.
Last week in Atlanta, the Miami offense was anemic. The Falcons defense keep the Dolphins off the scoreboard most of the day until Chad Pennington hit Rick Williams with an 8 yard touchdown pass with a little over
Pennington was 21 of 29 passing, he threw for 176 yards, one touchdown and one interception. Ronnie Brown was the Dolphins leading rusher with 43 yards on 10 carries.
A week ago against the Jags, Peyton Manning and the Colts offense did what they had to do to win head coach Jim Caldwell's debut on the sideline 14-12. Manning was 28 of 38 for 301 yard and one touchdown in the Indianapolis win. Wide-out Reggie Wayne was on fire. He caught 10 Manning passes for 162 yards, one for a score.
Monday night look for Manning to have a field day picking on rookie cornerback Sean Smith. If the Dolphins choose to give him help, then that will most likely leave Will Allen one-on-one with Wayne. It could get ugly in the Dolphins secondary.
Manning should have a big night. Take the Colts and give the 3 points on the road.
