Florida Gators Saturday afternoon when the Tennessee Volunteers come to town one might wonder how Florida coach Urban Meyer can possibly keep his Gators team focused when they are more than a four touchdown favorite.
Well look no further than Tennessee coach Lane Kiffin's big mouth. Kiffin's false recruiting allegations and his pledge to sing "Rocky Top" all night long after beating Florida have given the top-ranked Gators a little extra motivation for Saturday.
NCAA odds makers have the Gators sitting at a 30 point home favorite with the total in the contest set at 52.5.
The Gators probably don't need anything to push them in this one but they will surely take what was given to them.
"That's something you don't forget," Florida guard James Wilson said. "That's good motivation for us. It's going to be wild. It's going to be a show."
Historically, Florida
Tennessee did a much better job containing Tebow last year in Knoxville. Tebow threw for only 96 yards and two touchdowns, and the Volunteer held him to just 26 yards on the ground. However, what made that performance so special was the fact that Tebow gutted through that game playing with an injured throwing shoulder.
I don't think there is any question that Florida will win this game, but will they cover the 30 points? Probably, but make no mistake, even with all the added incentive the Gators have to crush the Vols, Tennessee will be ready to play and will not lay down.
I like betting the total in this one. Take the over 52.5 points, Florida could score that themselves.
