Texas Longhorns
The 2nd ranked Texas Longhorns and the Wyoming Cowboys will both be trying to get to 2-0 on Saturday when they battle at War Memorial Stadium.

The Cowboys picked up a nice win last week against Weber State in which Wyoming was able to stave off two fourth quarter touchdowns and hold on for a 29-22 win. Texas pounded the Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks 59-20 in their opening game.

It's no surprise that the Longhorns are heavily favored against the Cowboys as NCAA odds makers list Texas at -32 with the total in the contest sitting at 56.

A year ago Texas finished with their third BCS bowl victory in five years and finished fourth in the AP poll. Now, with one game under their belt, Texas is in great position to accomplish what they could not last year.

Against the Warhawks, Heisman Trophy finalist Colt McCoy completed 21 of his 29 passes for 317 yards, two touchdowns and one interception, Jordan Shipley hauled
in eight passes for a career-high 180 yards and a TD, and freshman tailback D.J. Monroe returned a kickoff 89 yards for a touchdown.

Although the numbers looked good for the Longhorns, Texas coach Mack Brown is always looking for ways to improve.

"Colt wasn't as pleased with himself in the first half, but his standard is set really, really high," Brown said. "If we were great tonight, why practice any more? Opening games should be your worst."

The Longhorns also have some concerns about their defense. Giving up 20 points to Louisiana-Monroe is not something that Texas wanted to do.

"We don't want to give up 20 points," said defensive coordinator Will Muschamp. "Ever." He added.

I just not like any team giving 30 or more points on the road. As good as the Longhorns offense can be, too many unpredictable things can happen, especially if their defense is suspect. I like the over in this one.

Take the over 56 points, the Longhorns may score 50 all by themselves.
